Nemesis - Zero Carbonista Electric Vehicle

Go to Projects Home Nemesis car

Ecotricity, the energy generation company dedicated to investing in clean, renewable energy sources, approached Ian McDonald in order to identify a number of delivery options in designing a zero emission, high performance sports car powered purely from energy. The energy would be coming from a 100% zero emission generation source – namely the iconic Ecotricity wind turbines seen beside many of the countries main arterial roads.

Subsequent work on the programme included risk mitigation studies, supplier selection, DFMEA studies and technical support with respect to battery and charge integration.Successful shakedown trials of the vehicle began at the beginning of Q2 2009.

In addition, Ian McDonald prepared a successful bid for additional funding for a further two vehicles, as part of the TSB Low carbon demonstrator programme. Build will start Q1 2010.
